Don't forget to turn in your Wild Robot Family Projects! They are due Wednesday, April 9th. We have already started getting some in!

Today, our 4th graders proudly presented their animal research papers in media class with Mrs. Morrissette!

It was an egg-citing math hunt in Ms. Lea’s class! Our first grade mathematicians solved addition and subtraction equations within 100, then searched for the matching egg to check their answers. Fun and learning all in one!

Congratulations to our Students of the Month for March! 🦁💚

Learning isn’t just for students! This week at Maple Elementary, our amazing K–2 teachers took part in lesson studies, collaborating with one another, our reading coach, and our CKLA coach to grow their teaching practice. It was a great opportunity to share strategies, reflect, and learn—because great teachers never stop learning!. We’re proud of our teachers’ commitment to continuous growth and excellence in the classroom!

We’re so proud of all our students for their incredible effort during the Read-a-Thon. Thank you to our families and community for your continued support!

Wednesday, April 2nd is World Autism Acceptance Day and kicks off Autism Acceptance Month.
To celebrate neurodiversity and ally with those with Autism, students and staff at Maple are encouraged to wear Red, Gold, or Rainbow. Students will not have to be in uniform if participating.
Why Red? "#RedInstead" is a movement initiated by individuals with Autism to promote the move from "Autism Awareness" to "Autism Acceptance" and to amplify Autistic voices. Who better to learn about Autism from than the experts!
Why Gold? The periodic element Gold is represented by the symbol Au - the first two letters of the word "Autism." Gold is considered a precious metal, just as every individual on the spectrum is a valuable and irreplaceable member of society.
Why Rainbow? The Autism Community embraces the use of rainbow colors and the infinity symbol to represent that Autism is a complex spectrum of individuals who possess a vast range of strengths and challenges.
Please stand in solidarity with the Autism Community to celebrate inclusivity and acceptance of all kinds of minds on Wednesday, April 2nd!

Midshore Meals Til Monday will provide meal bags for our Maple families on Fridays at 4 p.m. from the Academy and Light Street bus stop!

We are thrilled to celebrate Mrs. Higgins, our incredible Community School Liaison, for winning the 2024-2025 Community School Coordinators’ Regional Champion Award for the Eastern Shore!
This award is given to just one coordinator in each region — and Mrs. Higgins has truly earned this honor. Through her tireless efforts, she has built strong relationships, fostered reciprocal connections, and demonstrated collaborative leadership, making a lasting and positive change in our school community.
Community School Coordinators play a vital role across the state, and Mrs. Higgins exemplifies the heart and dedication behind this work. Please join us in congratulating her on this well-deserved recognition!
