At the end of the school year, we celebrated many of our Maple Lions for their personal growth and achievements! We hope all of our Maple Lions are off to a great start this summer. Summer reading logs, math packets, and a book for our One School, One Book program, kicking off on July 7th, have been sent home to keep the learning going!

A big thank you to DEPCOM Power for treating our staff to a delicious catered lunch this week! We’re also incredibly grateful for their generous donation of books for our students. Each student will receive a copy of the same book so we can kick off a One School, One Book program this summer. We appreciate your support in helping us build a love of reading in our school community! 📚💚

Yesterday marked our last day of school! We wish all our Maple Lions and their families a fun, safe, and unforgettable summer!

Congratulations to our Students of the Month for May! 🦁💚

Just a reminder that our 5th grade promotion ceremony will take place tomorrow at 9:30 AM in the cafeteria.
Due to limited space, we kindly ask that no more than two guests attend per student.
We can't wait to celebrate our amazing 5th graders!

Shoutout to our amazing 5th graders!
Last week, they wrapped up their Civil War ARC Core unit by presenting their incredible research projects—and some even dressed up as the historical figures they researched!
We’re so proud of the hard work, creativity, and confidence our students showed.
A big thank you to all the families, community members, and DCPS staff who took time out of their day to come support our students. Your presence meant so much!

Today, we held our third and final Coat Ceremony of the year!
This tradition honors students in Grades 3–5 who staff believe best exemplify the qualities it takes to ROAR to success as a Maple Lion. The Coat Ceremony is a special tradition we started this year to recognize students who demonstrate exceptional character and leadership. During each ceremony, selected students are presented with a Maple Coat as a symbol of their positive impact in our school community.
Today’s recipients were fifth graders Sameria, Efrain, and Rosalie , whose families were on hand to help celebrate them.
Staff described Sameria as a student who shines through both her academic effort and the heart she brings to our school each day. She is kind, compassionate, and always ready to lend a helping hand. A natural leader, she speaks up for others, promotes fairness, and leads by example—with grace, courage, and care for those around her.
Staff described Efrain as someone who truly embodies the spirit of a Maple Lion. He is kind, respectful, and hardworking, consistently giving his best in academics, sports, and beyond. He approaches every day with a thoughtful attitude, a strong work ethic, and a dependable presence that others look up to.
Staff described Rosalie as a shining example of Maple values—quiet strength, positivity, and dedication. She leads by example, uplifts others, and shows kindness in every interaction. Whether she’s helping a classmate or encouraging her team, she does so with a generous spirit and genuine respect for everyone around her.
Congratulations to Sameria, Efrain, and Rosalie on earning their Maple Coats! 🦁💚

Thank you, Cabin Fever! Mrs. Weglarz’s class had an incredible time! We’re so grateful for the opportunity you gave them to celebrate the end of a hard-working school year. Thank you for giving back to the schools and students in our community! 💚

With just a little over a week left of school, please help us keep our Maple Lions safe.
DROP-OFF REMINDERS
To ensure the safety of all students and staff, please follow these important guidelines during morning drop-off:
JOIN THE CAR RIDER LINE
• All car riders must be dropped off in the designated car rider line.
• Do not park in the parking lot or along the side of the road to let students out. Dropping students off outside the designated area slows down the process and compromises safety.
• Please be patient and follow the line all the way through.
STAY IN YOUR VEHICLE
• Adults should remain in their cars during drop-off.
• School staff will be on duty to assist students as needed.
• Please have your child seated behind the driver, with all of their belongings, and prepared to exit the vehicle once you come to a complete stop.
Thank you for helping us create a safe and efficient drop-off for everyone!
