Mrs. Thibault’s third graders have been busy exploring fractions in fun and hands-on ways! Students used playdough to build and identify fractions, helping them see and feel how parts make up a whole. Students also practiced placing fractions on a number line, strengthening their understanding of fraction size and how fractions relate to whole numbers. Great work, Mrs. Thibault’s class! 🌟

A huge THANK YOU to the Cambridge Rotary Club for donating brand new dictionaries to every one of our 3rd graders at Maple Elementary School! Our students were beyond excited to receive their very own dictionaries and wasted no time putting them to good use. They especially loved learning about the longest word in the dictionary — a whopping 1,909 letters long! 🤯📖 We are so grateful for community partners like the Cambridge Rotary Club who invest in our students’ learning and help spark curiosity, vocabulary growth, and a love of words. Thank you for supporting our ROARing readers! 💚✨

Our artists have been hard at work designing collaborative shape banners in Mrs. Turner's art classes! 🎨✨ Before getting started, students explored the concepts of positive and negative space in art and discussed how both play an important role in creating dynamic designs. After creating their positive space shapes, they were given full creative freedom to add color that filled their negative space. Students were encouraged to let their colors and shapes overlap, resulting in artwork that is bold, joyful, and full of vibrant energy! We love seeing their creativity shine through in every unique design.
