Mr. Wilson is an extremely hard worker who goes above and beyond every single day. He helps all students—not just those in his classroom—and is always willing to step in wherever help is needed. A true team player, Mr. Wilson never hesitates to support our school and can be counted on to stay for after-school events and activities.

🔬✨ 2nd Grade Science in Action! ✨🔬

Our 2nd graders are having so much fun diving into their science unit on the properties of materials! 🧪📘 This week, students became scientists as they explored how different materials behave by using a variety of ingredients to make their own glue.

They observed, mixed, tested, and discussed which materials worked best and why—building critical thinking skills while getting a little messy in the process!

We are proud to recognize two outstanding Maple Lions who were awarded a Maple Coat at our first Coat Ceremony of the school year. These honors reflect the powerful words shared by teachers and staff who see these students shine every day. Peyton Eskridge 🧡🦁 Teachers describe Peyton as a positive, enthusiastic learner who comes to school ready to give his very best. He asks thoughtful questions, takes academic risks, and never gives up when something feels challenging. Peyton is known for being hardworking, motivated, and kind to others, always lifting up his classmates and leading by example. His strong work ethic and joyful spirit truly represent what it means to be a Maple Lion. Cristian Cruz Martinez 🧡🦁 Staff consistently share that Cristian makes every classroom better just by being in it. He is attentive, respectful, and always willing to try. Known for his kindness and strong work ethic, Cristian looks out for others, follows expectations, and leads with integrity. Whether in the classroom or through sports, he shows dedication and leadership, and his Carson Scholarship nomination speaks to the impact he continues to make. It made the moment even more special to have their parents with us to celebrate this achievement. Peyton’s and Cristian’s families proudly joined us and had the honor of presenting their Maple Coats to them, making it a truly meaningful and memorable occasion. We are so proud of Peyton and Cristian for earning their Maple Coats and for being such wonderful examples of excellence, character, and heart at Maple. #withJoy

Today was House Meeting Day, and we proudly announced our House Heroes! 🎉 These students are the top three point earners in their classes. To celebrate their hard work, they’ll enjoy a special lunch next Friday and a fun swim at the Hyatt!

We are excited to recognize Ms. Plumley as one of our Pawsome Staff members at Maple Elementary School! 🌟

Ms. Plumley is a wonderful addition to our SEL team and truly leads with heart. She is always willing to lend a helping hand to students and staff, goes above and beyond to support those in need, and brings creativity and compassion to everything she does. 💚

Tonight was Cookies and Cocoa with Santa! 🎅🏽🍪 We loved partnering with our Maple Judy Center to host a fun filled family night. Families enjoyed math games, stories read aloud, dinner, and of course - cookies and cocoa!

As part of our Holiday Spirit Week fun, students and staff teamed up to dress alike for National Twin Day! From matching outfits to shared smiles, we saw double the spirit and double the fun throughout the building today. 🦁💚

Due to hazardous road conditions and freezing temperatures, Dorchester County Public Schools will open on a two-hour delay tomorrow, Monday, December 15, 2025. Please be safe!

We can’t wait to see everyone’s spirit! 💚

Today we celebrated the 67th day of school! 🎉 Mrs. Blair’s PK4 students played “67 Seconds to Win It” games and made a special snack where they counted out 6 pretzel sticks and 7 M&M’s. The rest of the school joined in the fun with a schoolwide hunt to find “67s” hidden throughout the building. Students who found one stopped by the office to claim a prize!
