On 3/31 we begin our school uniform incentive! Students who wear a uniform each day of the week will earn a treat on Fridays. Those students who wear uniforms each day of April will earn Kona Ice as an incentive! Remember khaki or navy bottoms and a polo shirt makes up an approved student uniform.

Grade 4 ELA Testing: April 14-April 17
Grade 3 ELA Testing: April 28 - May 1
Grade 5 ELA Testing: May 5 - May 8
Grade 3 and Grade 4 Math Testing: May 12 - May 15
Grade 5 Math Testing: May 19 - May 22
Please make sure your student is well rested, on time to school, and encouraged to do their best on the test! Testing will begin promptly at 9am.

Blurb: Mrs. Travis' 5th grade mathematicians rocked their recent BreakoutEDU challenge! They put their multi-digit multiplication and division skills to the test, working together to crack codes and solve puzzles. It was amazing to see the students collaborate, support each other, and persevere through some tricky problems.
For those unfamiliar, BreakoutEDU is an immersive learning experience where students work in teams to solve a series of puzzles and challenges to "breakout" or open a locked box within a time limit. It's a fantastic way to engage students and reinforce key concepts through hands-on, collaborative problem-solving.

If students are dressed up for the dress up day, no uniform is required, however if they are not dressed up for the theme, they should be in uniforms!

In about 2 weeks students enrolled in 5th grade will be participating in the Maryland Integrated Science Assessment (MISA). It is imperative for students to be on time and present to school every day of testing and to do their best. MISA testing will be taking place from March 10-14.

Second graders geologists are studying properties of sand. Properties such as size, shape, and color provide evidence of what created the sand, the size of waves that carried it, and if the sand is new or old. Our favorite sand was black sand that we learned is created from lava rock! 🌋🔬🔍
