With December upon us, it is time for our CES Read Alouds! Students can log into google meets with their DCPS Login to listen to a winter or holiday story read aloud from the comfort of their home with their family! Watch for a flyer coming home with your student with directions to log into the meet as well as a calendar with the stories and staff reading each evening!

Camping Adventure in Math Land! Our 5th grader Hummingbirds had a blast exploring fractions in a fun and engaging way! They transformed our classroom into a cozy campsite, complete with a campfire, trail mix, and cupcake s'mores! While "roughing it," they tackled some challenging math concepts: Fractions, Fractions, Fractions! Miss Brant's 3rd Grade Class along with Mrs. Messick’s class and Mrs. Blades' 2nd Grade class, got together this fabulous Friday to create a Fall Pumpkin Craft to celebrate Fun Friday, using various types of beans to add texture and fall colors. Choptank has kicked off our extended learning time opportunities this year with several after-school programs! Choptank Elementary is hosting our second annual 'McTeacher Night!' Please come out to support our PBIS program and see your favorite CES staff serving you and your family! McTeacher Night will be held on November 6th from 5:30pm-7:30pm at our Cambridge McDonalds!

Congratulations to our first ever MCAP Stars! They are being displayed and have one full hallway for them to shine each and every day at Choptank. Our teachers and staff are talking to students each day about what it takes to make the MCAP stars wall. Be sure to ask your student how they make the wall and be the best student they can be. Second grade is having fun observing properties of different types of glue. October is bullying awareness and prevention month. DCPS will participate in the National Unity Day 2024 campaign on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. All students, staff, and community members are encouraged to wear ORANGE to show a visible message of building commUNITY through kindness, acceptance, and inclusion to prevent bullying!
