This week, Mrs. Gardner's third graders learned a new multiplication strategy using arrays. The students enjoyed arranging M&Ms into arrays and writing matching multiplication equations.

Today, Mrs. Pinder and Mrs. Meekins focused on emotion recognition in play therapy. Mrs. Barnes' class did an excellent job identifying emotions!
Ms. Leas' first graders practiced their short vowel sounds and identified vowel sounds in words with a fun game of BOOM, CLAP, SNATCH!
Our Fall Family Math Night will be on Thursday, October 10th, from 5-6:30 pm. Please RSVP by October 3rd. We will also be having our annual pumpkin decorating contest. Please let us know if your family will be bringing in a decorated pumpkin to enter the contest.
Today marked our first House Meeting of the school year! Students loved spending time with their house families and building connections!
Yesterday, we hosted our Title I/Back to School Book Tasting event, and it was a fantastic evening! Students sampled various books and took home their favorites. Parents learned about Maple being a Title I school and the exciting initiatives planned for this year. We wrapped up the night with delicious food and door prizes! Thank you to everyone who participated!
Tomorrow is our first House Meeting! Students may wear their House color!

This week, our third graders created scaled picture graphs using Playdoh! This hands-on activity introduced them to multiplication concepts. Next up: exploring equal groups and arrays!

This week in 4th grade was a blast! In Ms. Cook's math class, students participated in a Jeopardy review to prepare for their Unit 1 checkpoint on Monday. Teams competed for a special prize, making it a super fun and engaging day! In Mrs. Kolakowski's class, students enjoyed a book tasting, exploring various titles from the hook book collection! Students were so excited!
Happy Community School Liaison Week to Mrs. Higgins! She consistently goes above and beyond for our staff, students, families, and the entire school community. We love you, Mrs. Higgins!
Yesterday was our Title I/Back to School Arc Night, and it was a fantastic event! Parents and guardians learned about our initiatives at Maple, while students decorated sleeping bags and listened to a bedtime story for their stuffed animals. Families enjoyed a fun breakfast-for-dinner and played some reading games together. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and a special thanks to all the staff who helped make it a great night!

We’re excited about our iReady data so far—many students did not regress over the summer break! Great job, Maple Lions! We’ll update this announcement once all assessments are complete, but we couldn’t wait to share the exciting news. Some students are still testing, and that’s okay. We encourage them to take their time and do their best. Keep an eye out for your child’s BOY iReady report!
