Good Morning! Due to unpredictable weather patterns forecasted for today, Dorchester County Public Schools will be closed on Friday, December 5, 2025 for students and central office staff. Everyone, be safe!

Students in Medical Interventions are learning about gene expression. They performed DNA Microarrays to see if their patient expressed specific cancer genes in order to create a treatment plan.

Mrs. Damaris Bourland from the Eastern Shore Health Center visited Biomed today for her annual aging simulation. Students got to experience what it is like to age and all of the health concerns associated with it.

🎃 SkillsUSA Member Event! 🎃
Our paid SkillsUSA members got into the fall spirit with a pumpkin carving challenge! Students showed off their creativity, teamwork, and SkillsUSA pride while designing their one-of-a-kind pumpkins.
👏 Congratulations to our two winners, Arianna Matteson and Tyasia Thompson, whose designs stood out for their skill and originality!
Events like this are what make SkillsUSA so special — bringing students together to build connections, have fun, and strengthen the skills that make them Champions at Work! 💪










Medical interventions students spent 2 days isolating their own DNA to look for a bitter tasting PTC gene. They were able to use their skills to isolate the DNA, run it through PCR, Cut the DNA and then separate using Electrophoresis!

Our Cluster students have the unique opportunity to experience all eight of our trade programs before choosing their career pathway! Through hands-on rotations, they get to explore:

🚗 Collision Repair
🔩 Automotive Technology
🚛 Medium/Heavy Truck
At the end of their rotations, students rank their top choices and are placed in the program that best fits their interests and strengths.
