CES Read Across America Spirit Week!

We did not reach our goal of 90% attendance for the school though. Please be sure to send your student everyday and have them here by 8:45. We appreciate the team effort.

Choptank Elementary Families and Community,
I am excited to announce that Choptank Elementary will be receiving major renovations this summer. HVAC systems, ceilings, technology in our early grades and flooring will all be updated. This requires our entire school to be emptied and will take the entirety of the summer to complete. Because of this our school year needs to be shortened to ensure the school is prepared to receive staff and students on time for the 2024-25 school year.
Choptank Elementary’s last school day for the 2023-24 school year will be Friday June 7th. This will be a ½ day for students.
This change only affects Choptank students. All other DCPS students will remain in school until the following Friday, June 14th.
On Monday, June 10th, all CES operations will move to a portable in the rear of the school for the remainder of the summer. Our phone number and emails will still be active. We will post contact information on the exterior doors for further reference at that time. A map on how to access the portable will also be posted on the front doors and sent to families in June.
This message will be sent once a month as a reminder.

Our Spring Book Fair will next week March 4th through 8th. It will be open during the Family Math Night as well. Students will have an opportunity to visit during the day.
