On Thursday, November 7, 2024, the Ella B. Walter Chapter of The National Honor Society (NHS) at Cambridge-South Dorchester High School inducted 34 new members. To become a member, students must earn a 3.7 or higher cumulative GPA entering their junior or senior year. Then, these students must respond to survey questions which further describe the four everyday pillars of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. A faculty council of five or more members must then meet to determine if each student has met these qualifications. Students then receive invitations to join the prestigious society.
The following students were honored during the induction ceremony:
Antonio Blueford, Sadie Carels, Monique Grizzelle, Jacob Mitchell, Brianna Montgomery, Christian Sanders, Wayne Spence, Enazajah Young, Preston Adkins, Andrew Albert, Hannah Allan, Collin Bair, Madelyn Bierley, Madison Brown, Nathan Corkran, Micayla Cristia, A’Ziyah Elliott, Ja’mariya George, Cincere Gibson, Alison Gonzalez-Jimenez, Luke Jacobson, Sydney Marshall, Hailey Mills, Sanaya Sampson, Marion San Juan, Charles Spedden, Madalyn Spicer, Matthew Suggs, Aydenn Trissell, Chloe Turner, Savannah Weber, Jewell White, Thomas Wilson, V., and Anthony Wright.
The ceremony was facilitated by NHS members Le’Asia Todd, Isabelle Hughes, Landon Ludolph, Camryn Russum and Tyler Sears.
Each new inductee had their biography read and pledged their commitment to the goals of The Ella B. Walter Chapter of NHS. Both Principal Jerome Stover and C-SDHS Class of 2006 Alumnus, Caitlin Donohue-Vega, shared motivating and inspiring messages which applied the NHS four everyday pillars of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Many parents, relatives, friends, and teachers attended. Advisor Ms. Morris is extremely proud to work with the student leaders in NHS this year.
NHS Members have a full year of school and community service activities planned, including a Blood Drive on January 9, 2025 and a Toys for Tots drive in the month of December.

Dear CSD Community, I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming support you showed during the recent Cambridge South Dorchester High School athletic event against Easton High School. The turnout was nothing short of phenomenal, and it truly made a difference for our communities. The atmosphere at the tailgate was electric, filled with laughter, camaraderie, and a shared sense of pride in our community. The delicious food provided by our local vendors and food trucks added to the festive spirit, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved. It was a joy to see the parking lot filled from front to back, a testament to the unity and support that defines Cambridge. Most importantly, we celebrated a victory on the field! The win was not just a reflection of our athletes' hard work and dedication, but also a celebration of the community that stands behind them. Your presence and enthusiasm contributed to an event that was free of issues and filled with good vibes and positive interactions. As the principal of Cambridge South Dorchester High School, I am immensely proud of our community's ability to come together, showcasing the best of what we have to offer. This event provided an excellent opportunity for us to continue changing the narrative surrounding CSD and to shine a light on the incredible connections we can foster within our community. Thank you once again for your unwavering support. We look forward to organizing more events like this in the future, as we continue to build connections and strengthen our community engagement. With sincere appreciation, Principal STOVER Cambridge South Dorchester High School
