Although we are on Winter Break, we want to give a big shoutout to these CSD Student Scholars of the Week! Da'Zhier Pinder, Jazzlyn Johnson, Jeffrey Sellman, and Ke'Shandra Elliott have all stood out to their teachers over the past few weeks. We are proud of each of you for finishing 2025 on a positive note! Keep up the great work in the new year.

Classroom Shourout! At Cambridge-South Dorchester High School, Mr. Ryan’s second-period seniors, along with third- and fourth-period sophomores, created Christmas cards for individuals assisted by Delmarva Community Services. The students used their literary and artistic skills to give back to their neighbors by spreading a little holiday cheer.

Congratulations to this week’s Student Scholars of the Week! Today, we celebrate Evan Gilliard, Kha’lei Kearse, Yamileth Gonzalez, and Preston Adkins. These students have stood out to staff members both in class and outside the classroom, and we are proud of their achievements. Join us in cheering for our wonderful students!

Classroom Spotlight: Ms. Eames' German class had student presentations today. Students Agbo Henry and Akizhae' Hammond both created impressive projects, and Ms. Eames wants to commend them for their hard work. The prompt was to write and illustrate (in German) their hypothetical best and worst days. Students included everything they love doing as well as everything they dislike. Keep up the great work, student scholars!

CSD Families: This is a reminder that when we come back from Winter Break we will be in full swing for the rest of our MCAP assessments.

January 5th and 6th will be MISA Biology.
January 7th and 8th will be English 10.
January 12th and 13th will be Government.

Please make sure you are on time to school for all assessments, have your laptop and charger, and do your best during every session! If you have any questions about testing, please reach out to administration.

Shoutout to the Cambridge South Dorchester High School Band! Over the past few days, they proudly marched in both the Cambridge and the February Christmas parades, showcasing their incredible talent and school spirit under the direction of their new band director, Mr. Vigo.

We’re also excited to announce that they took home 3rd place in the Federalsburg Parade! 🏆

What a wonderful Fine Arts Winter Concert!

Our talented band and chorus students filled the evening with beautiful music that truly got us into the holiday spirit. We were also treated to a special piano performance by Evan Gilliard, who has impressively taught himself to play!

A big thank you to Mrs. Wise and Mr. Vigo for their outstanding leadership, and to all the special guests—especially the enthusiastic student cheering section—for making the night even more memorable.

Spread some holiday cheer with us #withJOY! The CSD National Honor Society is collecting Toys for Tots through December 12th and needs YOUR help. The collection box is waiting for your generous donations in the main office — and the entire DCPS community is invited to give! The CSD Interact Club partnered with the Rotary Club to support the annual Thanksgiving Luncheon at the Delmarva Community Center. Interact members helped set up the dining area, greeted guests, and assisted with serving food throughout the event. They also worked alongside Rotary volunteers to make sure the meal ran smoothly and that every guest felt welcomed. This partnership not only strengthened the connection between Interact and Rotary, but also allowed students to give back to the community in a meaningful way during the holiday season.

CSD’s Interact Club was very excited to receive a $500 check for the Holiday Gift Bag Service Project for the nursing home. We have an awesome connection with the Rotary Club and truly appreciate their support in helping us kickstart this project!
