Shoutout to the Cambridge South Dorchester High School Band! Over the past few days, they proudly marched in both the Cambridge and the February Christmas parades, showcasing their incredible talent and school spirit under the direction of their new band director, Mr. Vigo.

We’re also excited to announce that they took home 3rd place in the Federalsburg Parade! 🏆

What a wonderful Fine Arts Winter Concert!

Our talented band and chorus students filled the evening with beautiful music that truly got us into the holiday spirit. We were also treated to a special piano performance by Evan Gilliard, who has impressively taught himself to play!

A big thank you to Mrs. Wise and Mr. Vigo for their outstanding leadership, and to all the special guests—especially the enthusiastic student cheering section—for making the night even more memorable.

The CSD Band and Chorus invite you to join us tomorrow night, December 3rd, at 6:30 PM for our Winter Concert! Doors open at 6:15 PM. We hope to see you there!

Spread some holiday cheer with us #withJOY! The CSD National Honor Society is collecting Toys for Tots through December 12th and needs YOUR help. The collection box is waiting for your generous donations in the main office — and the entire DCPS community is invited to give! Let’s come together to brighten the holiday season for children in our community. ✨

The CSD Interact Club partnered with the Rotary Club to support the annual Thanksgiving Luncheon at the Delmarva Community Center. Interact members helped set up the dining area, greeted guests, and assisted with serving food throughout the event. They also worked alongside Rotary volunteers to make sure the meal ran smoothly and that every guest felt welcomed. This partnership not only strengthened the connection between Interact and Rotary, but also allowed students to give back to the community in a meaningful way during the holiday season.

CSD’s Interact Club was very excited to receive a $500 check for the Holiday Gift Bag Service Project for the nursing home. We have an awesome connection with the Rotary Club and truly appreciate their support in helping us kickstart this project!

Today we celebrated #withJOY our students who met College and Career Readiness (CCR) PSAT cut scores and those who reached National Merit eligibility! This achievement reflects not only academic strength, but also determination and future ready skills. Proud is an understatement-keep aiming high!⭐️

Last weeks Student Scholar of the Week students are: Jade Mejia-Sidon, Julia Smith, Nyi'Aja Ennels, and Sa'Niya Elliott. All of these students have done a fantastic job in their classes and the teachers have noticed! Keep up the great work ladies!!!

CSD is having a Thanksgiving Box Giveaway. The 1st 100 CSD Families to sign up will recieve a box. Priority will be given to CSD families, and then to the community. They will be given out in order of contact. If you are selected, you will be contacted via phone or e-mail to confirm.

This week, we have four awesome students who deserve to be recognized. First, we have Rose, who is showing strong leadership in band. Next, Marlin Hernandez-Pinder, who is always willing to lend a helping hand to his peers. Then, Lizeth Gomez-Gonzalez, who is always excited to be at school and loves learning. Last but not least, Cayden Johns has recently jumped into Spanish and loves discovering new things. Congratulations to all the students nominated for Student Scholar of the Week!

This is a reminder that tomorrow, 11/7 is a half day for students. Please see below for the schedule. As a reminder, we will not have 1st Period (FLEX) due to it being a half-day.
