Today’s WOW event (Exploring careers related to the water) at C-SD was a big success and offered the opportunity for 97 students to meet and explore eight different companies that are related to water. Thank you to Seed To Shuck Ventures, Horn Point Oyster Hatchery, NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), Cambridge Power Squadron, Shore River Keepers, Accurate Marine Group, Madhouse Oysters, & Hoopers Island Oyster Company for participating and sharing such great information with our students. The WOW event was a program offered by Sandy Shaw, Dorchester County Public School’s Career Coach.

This week is the grand opening of Cambridge’s Jersey Mike’s Restaurant. As a part of their opening week, they have been gracious enough to partner with us for a fundraiser. From 2/21-2/25, any patron with a coupon will receive a regular-sized sub with a donation of at least $2. Even better, all donations will be given back to CSD!
All CSD students should see their 1st period teacher to get their coupon.

February 21st is right around the corner!
If you'd like to help inspire our students to consider pursuing a career path working on the water, near the water, in the water, under the water, or related to the water, it's not too late to sign up. This event will take place in the Media Center, with stations for our students to mingle and talk to community members, ask questions, and learn first-hand about careers. Our WOW Event will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m.
Any questions, feel free to contact me at shaws@dcpsmd.org or 410-228-9224 Ext. 1778. C-SD is so excited about this opportunity!
