You are invited to come along with MBRT Coordinator, Ms. Molock & DCPS Career Coach, Mrs. Shaw on a bus to Chesapeake College “Hispanic & Latino Family Welcome Night”, on Tuesday, October 8th. Each student is permitted to bring one parent/guardian and meet us at the front flagpole by 5 p.m. to depart sharply at 5:15 p.m. The bus will return to CSD by 8:45 p.m.. It will be a great time for our Hispanic & Latino students & family member to learn about financial aid & scholarships, programs of study, meet staff & other college students, explore academic pathways and tour the campus. The Lady Vikings host the first Vikings Go Purple game of the week, starting 4PM with JV Soccer taking on Queen Anne's, and then Varsity taking on Colonel Richardson at 5:30PM. Tickets are $6 Adult / $3 Student on GoFan.co or via credit/debit at the gate.


It's a new week for our students! Now that schedules are almost finalized for students, diagnostics and the first Summative Assessments will start happening in classes. Please check Power School at least weekly to stay up to date with your child's grades and attendance.
Here are the calendars for the week. You will notice that Monday starts with an A day. Athletics are busy this week as well, with several events happening home and away.
Monday, Golf is at the Hyatt, and Girls Varsity soccer is at Snow Hill.
Tuesday, the boys Soccer team is at Kent County and our Cross Country team hosts "the Rumble in the Jungle."
Wednesday, Golf plays at Hogneck and Girls JV Soccer is home v/s Queen Annes. Varsity girls soccer plays after them at 5:30 and it is their "purple night."
Thursday, JV Football is at Parkside and Boys soccer is home v/s Snow Hill.
Friday is another Varsity Football game. Come with your Purple and cheer on our football team and cheerleaders. The game starts at 6.
There is also some sports action next weekend, with the Bull Run at Hereford High School for the Cross Country team.

Students in science classes have been exploring and explaining safe lab practices with mock lab safety disasters and their fearless participants, "Shelly the Skelly" and "Skeleanor." Students were able to engage with their unusual environment (and guest classmates) to determine which lab safety rules had been broken, and used evidence gathered to engage in a choice board assessment.

H O M E C O M I N G A L E R T!
Our Homecoming football game is Friday, September 27th vs. Colonel Richardson, and to kick off the night, the Vikings are hosting a HOMECOMING TAILGATE! We're calling all CSD Alumni and supporters to come celebrate with former CSD Vikings from the classes of '84, '94, '04, and '14! Tailgate is from 5PM - 9PM with food trucks and a DJ, and kickoff for the HOCO game is at 6PM in Viking Stadium. Tickets for the game will be on GoFan.co or credit/debit at the gate for entry, and are $6 per adult / $3 per student.


It's the first full week of school at CSD, which includes Picture Day(s) and the first home football game. There was information given out on which day your child has pictures.
As far as sporting events go, Monday the girls soccer team plays at home at 5:30. Tuesday, both the boys and girls soccer teams are playing away. The boys are at Washington at 4pm and the girls are at Colonel Richardson at 5:30. Wednesday, golf is at Hogneck, Cross Country is at Atkins Arboretum, and JV football is at Century. Thursday, the boys soccer team plays Colonel Richardson at home at 4pm. The first home football game is Friday v/s Century at 6:30.
Come out and support our student athletes, and don't forget to look nice for your school picture!!!



Grade 10 and 11 students are invited to participate in the PSAT National Merit Scholarship qualifying exam on Wednesday October 16, 2024 at their high school. To participate, please submit your registration form using the following link no later than Thursday September 12, 2024:

Fall athletics officially kicks off today in Viking Stadium with a double header for our varsity soccer teams! Girls' Soccer hosts Kent County High School at 4PM, and Boys' Soccer hosts Kent Island High School immediately after at 5:30PM. Tickets can be pre-purchased at GoFan.co or with credit/debit at the gate.


Cambridge-South Dorchester High School will be utilizing GoFan again for the 2024-2025 school year for all ticketed home athletic events. Adults are $6 and Students are $3 which can be purchased in advance at GoFan.co or purchased via credit/debit at the gate.


This morning, the CSD seniors got ready for their "last first day" of school in Dorchester County by watching the sun rise together. Here are some pictures, although some stayed in the car because it was chilly.






Please welcome C-SDHS graduate , Mya Woods! "Good day to all of you! I'm Mya Woods, the newest special education teacher. This will be my 1st year in education. I am a native of Cambridge, Maryland and graduated from CSDHS in 2017. I graduated from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore with a bachelor's degree in sociology with a psychology minor." We are so excited to welcome you back home, Ms. Woods!
