The Office of Student Services has partnered with the Dorchester Chamber of Commerce and local businesses to offer PBIS incentives to staff! PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports. It is an evidence-based framework used by schools to improve school culture and student behavior, promoting a safe environment for learning.
During the month of April, staff were challenged to be one of the top point rewarders at their school. Mrs. Cathie Neal took time to recognize and acknowledge student behavior in a fun and inviting way and completed the challenge. She was randomly selected as a winner for the month of April and will receive 1-month adult membership to the YMCA of Chesapeake!
Congratulations, Mrs. Neal! Your dedication to your students, our school, and DCPS does not go unnoticed!

Mark your calendar for May 27th!! Warwick Elementary will be hosting a transition night for families to tour our school, visit classrooms, and gain more information regarding the 2025-2026 school year for their Pre-K/Kindergarten student. For many first time students, the school bus is a new experience. Families will have an opportunity to ride a school bus with their student as well. The fun doesn't stop there!! Families may receive a free scope of ice cream for attending.

We want to take a moment to recognize Mr. Roman Coale and his family! We thank them for their generous donation in memory of Mrs. Christy Coale. Christy was a former P.A.W.S. President who sadly passed away. We do our best to keep the flower beds in tip top shape to honor Christy's commitment to our HUSKY PRIDE!
Over the weekend, Mrs. Bard rejuvenated the gardens with new plants. The Coale Family donated hummingbird feeders and a hummingbird camera to live stream our feathered visitors for our Huskies to experience, as well as a monetary donation. We are very appreciative of the unwavering support from our dedicated staff and families. Their commitment plays a vital role in fostering a positive, nurturing environment where our students can thrive!
