Good Afternoon Huskie Families, Just wanted to give a few last updates before we begin our 1st day of school on Monday, August 24th:

1. If you drop your student off at school there is a new drop off spot. You will still enter the parking lot the same way as always. You will now just drop students off at the stop sign to walk down sidewalk and enter through cafeteria instead of front door. There will be adults out helping as well. Attached is a map of the new drop off location. Earliest drop off time this year is 8:30..

2. We are excited to be doing our 1st PBIS/House Kick off Event on Friday, August 18th! We will be announcing some fun new additions to our house program that should spice it up a little bit this year. For this event we would love to have students wear there house colors. If your student is new and does not have a WES house yet that will be revealed soon!

3. Summer Reading and Math Logs are due by Wednesday, August 26th! Make sure you complete them so you can receive your 1st dog tags of the year and participate in the incentive!

4. Uniforms: Monday thru Thursday - Regular Uniform Friday - House or Spirit wear. **If remember this Friday try to wear house colors for the kick off!!

5. Attached you will also find a brochure that was given out at open house. It has a lot of really great info about the upcoming school year...

6. The attached family calendar will give you some info about happenings for the 1st 2 months of school. Be on the lookout for additions. We are really excited to introduce the students to house lunches!!!

7. WES wanted to say thank you to all the amazing organizations that attended our Open House last night! Special thanks to Preston Ford for all the school supplies and to our PAWS Parent group for organizing the uniform closet and making gently used uniforms available to students!

🐾 There's Still Time to Register for PreK & Kindergarten! 🐾

Registration for the **2026–2027 school year** is still open!

Dorchester County Public Schools is now enrolling eligible students for **Prekindergarten and Kindergarten**. If you haven't registered your child yet, there's still time! Please note that enrollment **cannot be completed until all required documents have been received**.

Age Requirements

✅ **PK4:** Must be **4 years old** on or before **September 1, 2026**
✅ **Kindergarten:** Must be **5 years old** on or before **September 1, 2026**

Required Documents

Please have the following ready:
* Birth certificate or other acceptable proof of age
* Parent/guardian photo ID
* Proof of residency
* Proof of relationship to the student
* Immunization records
* Physical examination form
* Lead test results
* Proof of household income (PreK applicants only)

High-quality, full-day Prekindergarten programs are available for eligible families, with enrollment based on Maryland Blueprint guidelines and available space.
