Wednesday was a fantastic demonstration of teamwork at our school! During our unexpected early dismissal, every student and staff member worked together to ensure that everyone arrived at their destinations safely, all under the guidance of our incredible team leader, Principal Mrs. Susie Price. This collective effort highlighted our "UNITY" at Vienna Elementary School.
We sincerely appreciate our Vienna families' incredible support—it truly makes a difference and is essential to our success! Thank you for being such an important part of our team!

The long-awaited "Ugly Sweater Day" at Vienna Elementary School is finally here, and we couldn't be more excited! It’s such a wonderful time of year, reminding us how special the holiday season can be and bringing everyone together in our school community.
Don't forget that tomorrow, Friday, December 13th, is "Are You PRESENT!?!?" Day! We invite everyone to dress up as a holiday gift bag or present.
If you’re not participating, please remember to wear your school uniform. Let’s spread some holiday cheer together!
Won’t you be our new friend? We’re the PreK-3 class at Vienna Elementary School and we still have a few openings for new friends to join us this year! We have so much fun every day! We’re a part of the school, so we are here during school hours, 8:30 to 3:35 and a bus is available to bring us to school. There are lots of toys to play with, we learn rhymes and hear stories, have math activities, and lots of running around during outside play. We rest in the afternoon, and many of us fall asleep for a little while. We have breakfast, lunch, and a snack while we’re here and kind and well-trained grown-ups to keep us safe and help us learn. Dorchester County Public Schools will dismiss two hours early today, and Vienna Elementary School will close at 1:40 PM. The winter concert for Vienna Elementary School has been canceled for this evening.

Don't miss our exciting Movie Night for Vienna Elementary Families on Friday, December 13, 2024! The doors of Vienna Elementary School will open at 6:00 PM, and the movie begins promptly at 6:30 PM. Bring your favorite blanket or chair and get comfy for an evening of fun.

Mr. Sorrells' 4th grade class recently completed an engaging "Worlds Collide" Social Studies unit! Throughout this exciting journey, the students explored the rich cultures of Native Americans, examined what motivated Europeans to explore and settle in North America, and learned about the complex interactions between these two groups.
To bring their learning to life, the students created imaginative shoebox dioramas that vividly showcased the diverse lifestyles of both Native Americans and European settlers. Each diorama was bursting with creativity, featuring elements such as houses, food, clothing, and tools for hunting, fishing, and farming from that period.
Mr. Sorrells found that this hands-on approach helped the students grasp and appreciate these fascinating cultures and historical events. What an excellent way to make learning enjoyable and memorable!
No, that wasn’t a storm in Vienna, just the thunder of hundreds of feet of students, families, and staff Turkey Trotting around the school earlier this week! There were no prizes for fast times in this Trot, but all participants were part of a raffle with lots of great prizes being offered, including (of course) a turkey dinner. Congratulations to top prize winners Cole Condon (3rd), Charles Coulbourne (1st), and Chance Blades (2nd)! And, yes, that’s Superintendent Thompson in the middle of a group of students, combining two of his favorites: running and kids! #DCPS23NoMore

VIENNA CHRISTMAS PARADE IS SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 30TH.
Emmalyn Stack, a first grader at Vienna Elementary School, plays lacrosse as an attack/midfield player for Dorchester Lacrosse. Last year was her first year playing, and she is excited to participate again next year! Everyone at Vienna Elementary School is so proud of you, Emmalyn!
