💚 Tiny Turtles, Big Terp Pride!
The 4th grade Terp Club students, along with their leaders—our 4th grade teachers Dr. Lucas and Miss Perry—had a great time creating these adorable little turtles during one of their Terp Club meetings! 🐢💚
They’re just as cute as Cookie, our real turtle, who is doing well and will be released on Poplar Island this spring. 🌿 What a special connection between creativity and real-life conservation!
A huge thank-you to Mrs. LeMire, our amazing Art and Media teacher, for helping gather paints and supplies and for generously sharing her space with us. 🎨✨
🐢 A special thank you to Dr. Lucas and Miss Perry for their dedication and all they do for our Terrapins! #withJOY

Vienna Elementary students had an amazing time during a special assembly with Mr. Rob Thomas from Didgeridoo Down Under! His interactive show, “Protect the Planet,” combined music, culture, and an important message about taking care of our Earth. 🌿
Mr. Thomas wowed the crowd by playing the didgeridoo and even invited some students to come up and learn how to play it themselves—what a fun and unique experience! 🎶
Students were engaged, excited, and inspired as they learned how even small actions can make a big difference in protecting our planet. 🌎💚
A special thank you to Mrs. Winn, our community school social worker, for organizing this wonderful opportunity for our Vienna Terrapins! 💚🐢
Thank you, Mr. Thomas, for an unforgettable experience!

Mrs. Dechert’s Kindergarten class begins each morning with a fun and energetic greeting time. Today’s greeting had each student taking a turn jumping on the trampoline while the class chanted:
“One, two, three, four — hit the floor, (student’s name)!
We’re so glad you’re here today…
Hooray! Hooray! Hooray!” 🎉
This is just one of the many fun and creative morning greetings our kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Dechert, shares with her students, along with instructional assistants Mrs. Compton and Mrs. Malchow. These joyful routines get our Kindergarten Terrapins moving, laughing, and excited for the day ahead.
There’s nothing better than starting the morning with smiles, energy, and a warm Vienna Elementary welcome! 💛🐢📚

Mr. Stephen P. Heyneman from the Rotary Club of Cambridge visited Ms. Todd, our 3rd grade teacher, and our Vienna Elementary School 3rd grade class to present each student with a wonderful gift — their very own dictionary! He also took time to show them how to use it so they can discover new words, meanings, and build their vocabulary.
Thank you to Mr. Heyneman and the Rotary Club of Cambridge for this generous gift that our 3rd grade Terrapins can use throughout their program of study as they grow into college and career-ready students. 💚 #withJOY

🏆 “Celebrating Women’s History Week is always a winning play at Vienna Elementary!”
Thursday, March 12 – Women in Sports 🏀⚽
Students showed their team spirit by wearing their favorite sports team shirts, jerseys, or sports uniforms! It was a fun day celebrating the strength, determination, and achievements of women in sports.
In the first picture, Mr. Sorrells, our 5th grade teacher, and his student Emma are showing off their baseball skills as Emma gets ready to hit a home run. Talk about knocking Women’s History Week out of the park! ⚾
Our Terrapins always step up to the plate, score big, and go for the win when celebrating the amazing women who inspire us every day! 💪 🏀⚽

What a great time we had on Wednesday, March 11, for Who Run the World? GIRLS! Students and staff wore their workout clothes and sneakers, showing how strong and confident our Terrapins can be. 💪
In the first picture, Mr. Abbott and Mrs. Bailey are ready to run with confidence and strength, just like the amazing women who inspire us every day — including our moms and grandmoms, who are wonderful inspirations we love and admire! 💜
It was wonderful seeing everyone celebrate strength, confidence, and the amazing women who inspire us every day!
Friday, March 13 – House Pride for Women’s History

Thank you for your understanding, and stay safe!
Miss Hubbard took her students outside for their intervention class at Vienna Elementary School to enjoy the beautiful weather while working on their learning goals. Sometimes a change of scenery makes learning even more fun and engaging. Our Terrapins were focused, working hard, and enjoying the fresh air at the same time! 🐢✨

Tuesday, March 10, was Creative Women Who Stand Out Day, and our Terrapins definitely understood the assignment! Students and staff brightened the halls with eye-catching colors, bold patterns, and artsy outfits that showed off their creativity. From colorful shirts to fun designs and vibrant styles, it felt like our school turned into a walking art gallery! 🎨✨ It was a great way to celebrate the creativity and individuality of the amazing women who inspire us every day.
Reminder for the rest of the week:
🏀⚽ Thursday, March 12 – Women in Sports
