Today we salute a paws-itively super principal, the leader of the Warwick Elementary pack, Ms. Marybeth Blake! What does Ms. Blake wish to be her legacy from her years as an educator? “I want my legacy to be that I have empowered all children to have confidence to be their own advocate, to leave their seven years of elementary school having a voice to stand up for what they need to be successful in their educational career and as they navigate life. I want children to be kind, fair, and inclusive of others.” Happy National Principals Month, Ms. Blake! #AllHandsOnDeckDCPS #ThankAPrincipal

Big congratulations to Cambridge-South Dorchester High School principal Mr. Jerome Stover on receiving the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education (MBRT) June E. Streckfus Leadership in Education Partnerships Award for his outstanding support of the Next Generation Scholars Program at C-SD! Mr. Stover was selected for this recognition by MBRT from programs throughout Maryland. Next Generation Scholars Programs help students determine career interests and support students through the college and financial aid application process, and at C-SD is coordinated by Ms. Lauri Bell. Mr. Stover is pictured holding his award with Ms. Shamya Johnson-Stover, Human Resources Administrator for Hiring and Recruitment for Dorchester County Public Schools.
Nine C-SD students, part of the Next Generation Scholars Program, also attended the MBRT Industry Day and Annual Meeting to cheer on Mr. Stover as he received his recognition. The event was held at McCormick Headquarters in Hunt Valley, where students met other Next Generation Scholars from across the state, learn about McCormick and the company’s careers, learn about how spices are made, talk to flavorists, and sample different flavors/spices. They also heard from Chef Stretch of Next Level Chef, a local Baltimore young man making a name for himself in the culinary industry. #AllHandsOnDeckDCPS #CreatingTheFutureDCPS
