📚 NDMS After-School Tutoring Sign-Ups Are Open! 📚
North Dorchester Middle School is excited to offer after-school tutoring once a week starting October 8, 2025 through May 20, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
✅ Tutoring is FREE
✅ Bus transportation is limited
✅ Permission slips are due by October 1, 2025
Tutoring will pause from December 10, 2025 to January 7, 2026 for winter break.

Look for a report with current reading ability coming home with your scholar the week of September 29th. Please speak to your scholar’s teacher if you have questions, concerns, or would like ideas for how to support literacy.
Five Tips for Supporting Literacy at Home:
Encourage summer IXL practice which can be done on cellphones and reading.
Read in the home, even reading cooking instructions and other practical items or product labels count.
Reply to one another’s text messages in complete sentences with punctuation and capitalization. (Bragging rights for being an editor and fixing other people’s errors.)
Watch media with closed captions turned on.
Go to the public library or check out books from the school library.
