Good Morning! Due to unpredictable weather patterns forecasted for today, Dorchester County Public Schools will be closed on Friday, December 5, 2025 for students and central office staff. Everyone, be safe!

Our amazing student-led Green Team put this together, and they’re on a mission to make our school even greener by recycling!
✅ We’re looking for 10-gallon tubs to help with the project.
Any color is fine!
They don’t need to be new!
If you have any tubs you can donate, please drop them off at the school or reach out to us. Every little bit helps! 💚
Thank you for supporting our students and their efforts to make a difference!

It is clear that education and the success of NDMS remain her top priorities, and her commitment continues to make a lasting impact on our school community.
Please join us in congratulating Ms. Barnes on this well-deserved recognition. We appreciate her immensely and are honored to have her as part of the NDMS family!

If you missed Picture Day, don’t worry! Make-up photos will be taken TOMORROW, December 2nd at NDMS.
✅ Be sure to look your best and bring your smile!
📍 Location: NDMS
📅 Date: Tuesday, 12/2
Spread the word so everyone gets their photo taken!

The delivery came today, and Ms. South is working hard to have everything set up by Wednesday. The fair will run until December 12th, so mark your calendars!
✨ Special Event: The Book Fair will also be open during our Band & Chorus Concert on Tuesday, December 9th from 5–7 PM.
We encourage all students to read every day because the impact is HUGE:
✅ Reading 1 minute a day = exposure to about 8,000 words per year
✅ Reading 5 minutes a day = about 282,000 words per year
✅ Reading 10 minutes a day = roughly 600,000 words per year
✅ Reading 20 minutes a day = over 1.8 million words per year!
Research shows that students who read for 20 minutes daily often score in the 90th percentile on standardized tests, while those who read less than 5 minutes score around the 50th percentile. Every minute counts!
📖 Let’s make reading a priority and spark a love for books!

We hope this holiday will bring you nothing but joy! Here at NDMS we have a lot to be thankful for - like you and all the support you give us and your children. We wish each and everyone of you a safe and Happy Thanksgiving & Thanksgiving Break!
