Mr. Daniels has done it again! He planned and executed another amazing Activity Day and Color Run!
The opening ceremony kicked off with our student House Leaders mummifying their staff House Leaders, followed by the annual staff egg toss where Mrs. Thompson and Ms. Malbouf were crowned this year’s champions!
Students had an incredible time participating in relay races, tug-of-war, and running through Egypt Road Park covered in bright, colorful powder. A huge thank you to Cambridge Rescue Fire Company for helping make the Color Run a success by spraying our students with water before the run!
The day wrapped up with our annual Staff vs. 5th Grade kickball game — and once again, the staff took home the win!
Thank you, Mr. Daniels, for creating another fun-filled day full of laughter, excitement, and lasting memories for our Maple Lions!
After Ms. Leas’ first graders finished reading their latest Magic Tree House book, they discovered the mystery and magic of oysters! Thanks to our amazing volunteer, Mrs. White, each student received their very own oyster — and inside was a beautiful pearl! Our students were so excited for this thoughtful surprise and hands-on experience!

Activity Day will take place on Thursday, May 21st, for students in Pre-K through 5th grade! Students will enjoy fun activities throughout the day, including water stations, relays, tug-of-war, and a Color Run at Egypt Road Park.
Students should wear comfortable athletic clothing, a white t-shirt, shorts, and tennis shoes. Please send a large water bottle and hat. Apply sunscreen and bug spray at home before school.
If you do not want your child walking to the park, please notify your child's teacher in advance.
We are looking forward to a fun-filled day with our students!

Our "A Boy Called Bat" family projects were due today, but students may still bring them in tomorrow! We have loved seeing the creativity and hard work our Maple Lions have put into these projects. 🦨💚
Projects will also be displayed during our Going for Gold Reading and Math Night tomorrow evening! We can’t wait for families to walk through and celebrate our students’ amazing work. 🥇📖
This Thursday, May 14th, Maple Elementary will be wearing green in support of Mental Health Awareness Week! 💚
We encourage all staff and students to participate in this optional dress day as we come together to support mental health, kindness, and wellness for all.

PreK4 took a trip to JZ Farms today! 🍓 They had a blast playing outside, exploring the farm, and picking fresh strawberries. What a fun day of learning and adventure! ☀️

First grade had a wonderful day exploring nature! They learned about wetlands and pollinators, and even planted seeds. Thank you to Adkins Arboretum for an amazing adventure and hands-on learning experience!
Mrs. Lewis’s 2nd grade class wrapped up their Animal Stories unit with amazing final projects! Students used their creativity and reading skills to showcase animal characters, story elements, problem-solving, and lessons learned throughout the unit. We are so proud of their hard work and growth as readers and storytellers! 🐾📚✨
Mrs. Sann’s Pre-K 4 class had so much fun with a special science visit from Mrs. Guldan, DCPS Science and Socials Studies Coach!
Our students made predictions about what they might see, then drew the outcomes before making rain together! The kids absolutely loved this hands-on learning experience! 🌧️✨
We had so much fun tonight at our 1 Mile Family Fun Walk/Run! Thank you to all of our Maple families who came out and to our incredible staff who volunteered to help make the evening a success. We loved seeing our school community come together for such a fun event! 💚
