Today we celebrate two incredible members of our Maple family—Instructional Reading Coach, Mrs. Pritchett and Instructional Math Coach, Ms. Jones!
While they may have one official day set aside to celebrate them, they deserve so much more than just one day for all they do for Maple. They both consistently go above and beyond for our staff and students.
Their work is about so much more than coaching. They listen, problem-solve, collaborate, encourage, support, and jump in wherever they are needed. Whether they are working alongside teachers, helping students, analyzing data, supporting instruction, or simply being a listening ear, they make Maple stronger every day.

Our fifth graders are having a ROAR-some time at North Bay! 🦁
Even though they’ve only been there for one day, our students have already been busy exploring, learning, and trying new things! So far, groups have tackled the ropes course, visited the farm and tried some new vegetables, and learned important survival skills.
We love seeing our fifth graders step outside of their comfort zones, work together, and make memories with their classmates. We can’t wait to see what the rest of their North Bay adventure brings! 💚🤍
🔥🚒 Fire Safety at Maple! 🚒🔥
Today, our PK3–2nd grade students had some very special visitors from the Cambridge Volunteer Fire Company! As part of Fire Prevention Week, our students learned important fire safety tips and what to do to help keep themselves and their families safe. 🧯👩🚒
A HUGE thank you to the Cambridge Volunteer Fire Company for taking the time to visit our Maple Lions, teach them these important lessons, and make fire safety fun and memorable! We are also so thankful for the firefighter hats and goody bags for our students! ❤️🚒

🏃♀️💚 Girls on the Run is OFFICIALLY underway at Maple Elementary! 💚🏃♀️
Yesterday was our very first Girls on the Run practice, and we couldn’t be more excited for the season ahead! We have 26 amazing girls signed up and ready to run, grow, learn, and have fun together! 🎉
Our incredible coaching team — Ms. Plumley, Mrs. Higgins, Mrs. Meekins, Ms. Malbouf, and Mrs. Travis — are so excited to spend this season cheering these girls on, building them up, and watching them discover just how strong they are! 💪💚

Sometimes, a little encouragement can go a LONG way! 💚🦁
A few weeks ago, our Maple students made good luck cards and letters for the athletes competing in the Ironman triathlon. Our students put thought and heart into each card, hoping their words might encourage an athlete as they took on such a challenging goal.
Sometimes, we’re lucky enough to hear back from the athletes—and that’s exactly what happened for 5th grader Xavien! 🎉
The athlete Xavien made a card for went on to finish 2nd in the triathlon and qualified for the 2027 Ironman World Championship in Hawaii! 🌺🏊♀️🚴♂️🏃♂️
Experiences like this are a powerful reminder of what we hope to teach our students about perseverance. Big accomplishments don’t happen overnight. They take determination, hard work, resilience, and the willingness to keep going when something is difficult.

🐾📚 Back to School Nights at Maple Elementary! 📚🐾
What a wonderful time we’ve had welcoming our Maple families back for our two Back to School Nights— the past two Wednesday nights! 💚
While parents learned more about Title I at Maple, as well as important updates in reading and math, our students had a chance to get creative and complete fun crafts with their teachers! 🎨
Then, families headed to our grade-level pods to learn, laugh, and play a fun math game together! 🎲➕➖ It was a great opportunity for families to experience the kind of engaging learning happening at Maple every day.
Thank you to all of our families for joining us and to our amazing staff for making these evenings so special! We are ROARing to Success together! 🦁💚

Ms. Whirley is such a hard worker and is always willing to jump in and help wherever she is needed. She demonstrates incredible flexibility and a positive attitude, and she is fully engaged in every classroom she supports. She goes above and beyond to help our students succeed and has built wonderful, positive relationships with her colleagues. 💚

Maple Elementary School was so lucky to have Joe Romano in our building today! He inspired our students with his show, The Magic in You, teaching them important lessons about having confidence, showing respect, and working hard each and every day. 💚
Our students AND staff had so much fun learning, laughing, and being reminded that the greatest magic is already inside of them! ✨
