HOUSE CELEBRATION TOMORROW !! 🩶❤️💛💜
This year we are doing it a little bit different and the Quarter 1 House Champion will be announced at the END of the House Celebration! That means wheel spins for BEST Eagles may change the leaderboard! It’s going to be SO FUN!!
We will then celebrate the winning House on Friday where all students and staff will wear that House’s color! The winning House will also receive face paint! Please make sure if you DO NOT want your child to have face paint, you send in the opt out form that was handed out at the beginning of the year OR send an email to Mrs. Creighton at Creightonj@dcpsmd.org

🦃 Thanksgiving Luncheon – Thursday, November 13th 🦃
We’re so excited to welcome our families to our annual Thanksgiving Luncheon! It’s one of our favorite traditions to share together as a school family! While lunch orders are now closed, you’re still welcome to join your child during their lunch time to make special memories together.
Please review the attached schedule for your child’s lunch time.
To keep our day running smoothly and ensure uninterrupted learning:
- Students will only eat during their assigned lunch time and will not be called out of class early.
- Families are welcome to stay for multiple lunch periods if they have more than one child.
- There’s no need to arrive early, as space is limited and families will be allowed to enter the building only at their child’s scheduled time.
We can’t wait to share this special day of gratitude and community with you!
Important Information for Next Week’s 5th Grade NorthBay Trip
Dear Families,
Next week’s forecast for our NorthBay trip shows temperatures in the mid-40s, so please be sure to pack warm clothing and shoes for your student.
If your student is in need of any form of clothing—including jackets, hats, or gloves—please reach out to Ms. McBean (mcbeana@dcpsmd.org) or Ms. Church (churchs@dcpsmd.org) and we’ll be happy to assist.
To help minimize luggage and bags on the bus, it is encouraged (but not mandatory) to drop your student off by 8:45 a.m. on Monday with their luggage. The bus will leave promptly at 9:15 a.m., so please ensure your student arrives on time.
If you are a chaperone, you are welcome to ride the bus or follow behind in your own vehicle, but please be at the school by 9:15 a.m.
If your student takes any medication, please place it in a ziplock bag labeled with their name before sending it in.
Just a friendly reminder that it is a school rule that students are not allowed to have phones in school or on this trip. Each student will have the opportunity to call their parent/guardian during breakfast, lunch, and dinner. NorthBay staff will provide each student with their assigned contact number for those calls.

Dear HES families ! Just a reminder that cheerleading tryouts are for grades 4th & 5th graders ONLY ! Only 4th and 5th graders that have turned in a permission slip are eligible to stay after today. Just a reminder there is a parent meeting after tryouts at 5pm !

With tomorrow being trunk or treat, students are not allowed to wear there costumes to school tomorrow during school hours. They can most definitely wear them to trunk or treat that starts at 5:30pm. We will send out a flyer soon stating when students can wear there costumes to school.
This is just a reminder to all families that there is NO SCHOOL tomorrow October 17. 2025. We will see you all on Monday October 20th at 8:30am !
