🗳️🍩🍪🍦 Our 3rd graders are learning all about civic duty and the importance of voting! Today, they learned how voting works, why our votes matter, and even got to practice by voting for their favorite treat: donuts, cookies, or ice cream! What a fun way to learn about being an active citizen!

On Thursday all students will wear black or white as they will be sorted in their new houses. This is an exciting time for the hive. Looking forward to the house sorting that is coming this Thursday.

Please be sure that if there are transportation changes for your student that a note is sent in to their teacher so there is no confusion at the end of the day.

Also, gentle reminder that Sandy Hill students wear uniforms everyday unless there is a special circumstance. Uniforms need to be the proper color (yellow, navy, black or white) polos and khaki, black, or navy shorts or dresses.

Dear Sandy Hill Students and Families,
It is with great pride and excitement that I introduce myself as the new Dean of Students at Sandy Hill Elementary for the 2026–2027 school year.

Sandy Hill is a special place for me because it is where my own educational journey began. I am a proud native of Dorchester County, a former Sandy Hill student, and a graduate of Cambridge-South Dorchester High School. I began my teaching career at Hurlock Elementary, and after more than 20 years in education, I am honored to have the opportunity to return to my community and give back.
As Dean of Students, I will work alongside our administration, staff, students, and families to support student success, engagement, and a positive school climate. Most importantly, I look forward to building relationships with our students and helping them reach their full potential.

I am passionate about showing our students what is possible when we believe in ourselves and our community. I truly believe we have something special at Sandy Hill, and I am excited about what we can accomplish together.

I look forward to meeting our students and families and making the 2026–2027 school year a great one!

Our Sandy Hill teachers kicked off the first week back with teamwork, learning, laughter, collaboration, and lots of preparation for an amazing school year ahead! 🐝🍎

From professional learning and sharing ideas to reconnecting with colleagues and getting classrooms ready, our staff showed up with energy, purpose, and a commitment to making an impact on every student.** 💪🏽✨

Dive into Kindergarten Readiness with The Sandy Hill Judy Center Early Learning Hub! This is an ocean themed series of Kindergarten Readiness workshops designed for students who will be entering Kindergarten at Sandy Hill for 26-27. More details are on the flyer below. If your child attends at least 4 of the 6 workshops, your child will receive 5 sets of uniforms and be eligible for a mystery field trip in August!
