Good evening 8th grade families-
Tomorrow, the MD Integrated Science Assessment, MISA, will be administered to all 8th grade students. This will everyday this week. Please encourage your student to try their best, read carefully, complete all writing prompts and use all of the time provided. We strongly advise families to keep all personal electronic devices at home or have a conversation with your student about relinquishing to a teacher during testing. Any electronic devices that are found while a test is being administered or any student that is found disrupting the testing environment can have serious consequences for the student, their classmates and the school. As always, we appreciate your support in helping us provide the best classroom environment for all NDMS students.

Q3 Interims are released. Please check your email, including junk folders. We ask that you have a conversation with your student regarding finishing the year strong, academically!

Good morning NDMS Families-
As a reminder, only clear book bags and clear, see through water bottles are permitted on campus. Metal cups, such as Stanley cups, are not permitted at lunch. Items that violate school policy will be confiscated at the door and returned to the student at the end of the day. If a student continues to bring, a call home will occur and the parent will need to come pick up the confiscated item. Please help us in ensuring that our students and staff remain safe within our school community.

Permission forms for the JA field trip, occurring on March 12th are due tomorrow. We will not accept late permission forms.
As a reminder, tonight, NDMS will be hosting school counselors from NDHS and NDMS to review new high school requirements that impact your child's high school journey. 8th grade families, this is an event that you DO NOT want to MISS. WE hope to see you at 5:30 pm, tonight!

State law requires that all public schools in Maryland survey students about school climate. The purpose of the survey is to gain valuable information about the quality and character of each school’s learning environment so that schools can promote a climate that supports student learning.
Students will take the Maryland School Survey during regular school hours on Friday, February 23, 2024. The survey will ask students about topics such as student engagement, interactions with adults and with other students in the school, the school environment, bullying, and safety. The survey will not ask about a student’s personal experiences, and students will not be asked to provide any information that might violate their privacy.
The survey is confidential and school personnel will not have access to the responses of specific students. The responses your child provides will be combined with the responses from other students in the school, and results will be reported for each school and district.
We are eager to receive this very important information about your student’s school and about schools across the state.
If you have any questions about this survey, please contact Assistant Principal Adam Wilson at ext 1604.
