Good evening!
Due to the predicted weather conditions DCPS will operate on a virtual learning day tomorrow, Monday, February 23, 2026. Students should follow their school’s schedule. Other staff are required to telework. If that is not possible, contact your supervisor.
Please stay safe!

🚌💙 Bus Driver Appreciation 💙🚌

The official School Bus Driver Appreciation Day is April 28 — but there are also several appreciation days recognized in February. One thing we knew for sure… we didn’t want to miss the opportunity to share some love for our amazing drivers!

Our bus drivers are often the first smile our students see in the morning and the last goodbye in the afternoon. They play a critical role in keeping our students safe while building positive relationships every single day. Rain, cold mornings, busy afternoons — they show up for our kids.

To all of our NDMS bus drivers: THANK YOU for your dedication, patience, and care for our students. We appreciate you more than words can express! 🦉❤️💙

If you see a bus driver this week, take a moment to say thank you!

There is a slight possibility of winter weather this weekend. As a precaution, students are being sent home with their devices and/or paper learning packets tomorrow, Friday, February 20th in the event that school is impacted next week.

Should weather conditions cause a school closure at the start of next week, we will transition to virtual instruction. We hope that the weather will cooperate and that we will see our students in person, bright and early, on Monday.

Thank you for your support and understanding as we prepare for all possibilities.

A huge THANK YOU to Mr. Evans for organizing this trip and making it possible for our students to enjoy such a great experience. We appreciate the time and effort it takes to coordinate opportunities like this for our kids! Go Bulldogs! 🐾🏀

Happy SRO Day! 💙🦉 At NDMS, we are incredibly grateful for the men and women who help keep our school safe each and every day. A special shoutout to our current School Resource Officer, JD Dickerson, for the care, dedication, and presence he brings to our building. He does so much behind the scenes (and in the hallways!) to make NDMS a safe and amazing place for students and staff. We also want to thank DSO for their continued coordination and commitment to making student safety priority #1. SRO Day is officially on Sunday, but we couldn’t wait to recognize JD today. We appreciate you! 👮‍♂️💙 #HappySRODay #NDMSProud

❄️🧹 This afternoon’s warmer weather gave us hope… but that ice was still NO joke! So in stepped our very own “Inspector Gadget of Ice Removal” — Mr. Evans — on the case in his signature coat-and-hat look and ready for action. 🕵️‍♂️🧥 Go-Go Gadget… shovel! 😄 Alongside our amazing custodial team, he helped give that stubborn ice one final shove on its way out. We’re grateful for leadership that shows up wherever it’s needed — even when the assignment is frozen solid. Spring, we’re ready! 🌤️💪

Good Afternoon DCPS Families!

There is a slight chance of winter weather this evening, so just in case it impacts school tomorrow, students are being sent home today with their devices and/or paper learning packets.

If weather does cause a school closure, we will move to virtual instruction for the day. This is simply a precaution—we’re hoping Mother Nature cooperates and that we’ll see our students bright and early on Wednesday!

Thank you for helping us be prepared (and fingers crossed we won’t need it 🤞).
