Learn more about money available to help you continue your education at the Office of Student Services’ Scholarship Fair on Wednesday, January 10, 5:30 – 7 pm at Dorchester Career and Technology Center (DCTC). While open to all DCPS students and families, it is especially for all graduating Seniors. Meet representatives from local organizations to learn more about scholarship opportunities! Mr. Eddie Bailey, Masonry instructor at Dorchester Career and Technology Center, retired just before Winter Break. To celebrate him, staff at DCTC came to school dressed as him, wishing him “joy, relaxation and lots of time metal detecting!” That’s Mr. Bailey in the front, the only one without a homemade ‘metal detector’. We get by with a little help from our friends, and Hurlock Elementary School is very grateful for lots of friends! To say thank you to its community partners, every student at the school colored and cut out a big paper bauble, which were strung together in garlands. Santa was able to squeeze in one last visit before schools closed for the Winter Break, and he brought Mrs. Claus too! This time the stop was South Dorchester School, for which the Claus family has special affection and to which they travel an extra-long distance to reach.
