Dorchester County Public Schools is proud to celebrate a significant milestone in its partnership with C. Albert Matthews and its continued commitment to creating meaningful career opportunities for students.
C. Albert Matthews has long-supported apprenticeship opportunities, and this year, that partnership is reaching an exciting new milestone. James Kirschner, a junior at North Dorchester High School is the first DCPS student apprentice hired by the company.
James’ achievement demonstrates the power of strong school-business partnerships and the value of apprenticeship experiences that allow students to apply classroom learning in real-world settings while developing the skills and experience needed for future careers.
“Opportunities like this are exactly what we want for our students,” said Superintendent Dr. Jymil Thompson, “When our schools and business partners work together, students can see a direct connection between what they are learning today and the possibilities that exist for their future. We are grateful to C. Albert Matthews for investing in our students and helping us build stronger pathways from high school to successful careers.”
