Dorchester County Public Schools is proud to announce the newest cohort of culinary
apprentices embarking on their professional journeys as Cook 1 Apprentices with the Hyatt
Regency Chesapeake Bay, which includes Te’Vonte Cephas and Viniya Murry. These students
have successfully completed rigorous training through the Culinary Arts Program at Dorchester
Career & Technology Center (DCTC), where they gained essential skills in food preparation,
kitchen operations, safety, and professionalism under the expert guidance of Chef Charlene
Zinnel.
As they transition from classroom learning to hands-on experience in one of our region’s
premier hospitality venues, these apprentices will continue to fine-tune their craft alongside
seasoned culinary professionals. This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to apply their
knowledge in a real-world setting, build industry experience, and advance toward rewarding
careers in the culinary field.
