Dorchester County Public Schools proudly celebrated the outstanding achievements of its educators and staff at The Best of DCPS Awards Gala on Thursday, April 9, 2026. The event recognized exceptional dedication and service, highlighting the district’s commitment to educational excellence and community impact.
DCPS is honored to announce the recipients of the 2026-2027 Teacher of the Year and Early Excellence Educator awards:
Ms. Cierra Robinson, Teacher of the Year, Maple Elementary School
Ms. Olivia Gisriel, Early Excellence Educator, Choptank Elementary School
In addition, the district recognized the 2026 Team Members of the Year in the following categories:
Community Connections: Sarah Hopkins, North Dorchester High School
Impact: Shay Lewis-Sisco, Dorchester Career & Technology Center
Leadership: Natalie Drake, Maple Elementary School
Service Above Self: Crystal Carpenter, North Dorchester Middle School
Dorchester Educators also honored Ms. Shay Lewis-Sisco as the Education Support Professional of the Year, acknowledging her invaluable contributions to the school community.
