Devon Ray, a Collision Repair student at Dorchester Career & Technology Center (DCTC), has officially begun his painter apprenticeship at Composite Yacht in Trappe, Maryland. Under the mentorship of experienced professional Leon Lahman, Devon is applying the trade skills he has developed in the classroom to real-world projects.

Devon’s apprenticeship signing took place on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Composite Yacht, marking an exciting step in his career journey. At DCTC, Devon studies under the guidance of teacher Mr. Jesse Morris, where he gains hands-on experience in collision repair, including painting and finishing various vessels of transportation.

This apprenticeship offers Devon a valuable opportunity to enhance his skills in a professional setting, bridging the gap between education and industry. Dorchester County Public Schools is proud to partner with Composite Yacht to support local talent and contribute to workforce development in our community.
