Welcome to Choptank Elementary School where we take pride in all that we do. Choptank Elementary School is a PK – 5 school located on the grounds of the Edith M. Jolley Educational Center on Maces Lane in Cambridge, MD.  We proudly share this campus with Maces Lane Middle School.  Our school encourages staff, students, parents and community members to be actively involved in the well-being of our students. The Choptank Community is a great place to further your child's education as we are committed to creating enduring success with every student every day.  Throughout the school year, we host many family activities to encourage our parents and guardians to get involved in their students’ learning.  

Through the implementation of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), we are striving to educate our students on the importance of favorable decision making.  Students are coached in positive decision making skills in all facets of their learning – academically, socially and emotionally.  In addition, extracurricular activities such as Girl Scouts of America, the Choptank Steppers, Empowering Our Young Men (EOYM) and the afterschool STEAM program are offered to extend student learning and hone decision-making skills. 

At Choptank School, learning is the expectation for all.  To further our learning, Choptank Elementary is also a Professional Development School working in collaboration with Salisbury University.  In the role of Professional Development School, students majoring in education are assigned to experienced teachers at Choptank to continue their teacher training.  As a result of this partnership, our staff and student learning benefit greatly.  

Lastly, Choptank School is proud to be a state-adopted Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. school.
