Mission Statement:

DCPS Social Studies department imparts foundational knowledge and skills necessary for students to become empowered, informed, and socially responsible citizens.

Vision Statement:

The vision of DCPS Social Studies is to prepare all students to become informed citizens along with taking action to develop their own civic identity and voice.  We strive to produce 21^st century critical thinkers that actively participate in their own learning and become life-long learners.
